Vessel Diameter Measurement in Intravital MicroscopyIn microcirculation studies, the blood vessel diameter is often measured to quantify the effects of various stimuli on circulation system. The vessel diameter is measured in intravital videos spanning several minutes, and The biological researchers have the burden of hand-measuring the diameter in hundreds of image frames. The goal of the automated tracking of vessel diameter is to measure accurately the vessel diameter in the intravital video microscopy. The algorithm is based on feature tracking method, which tracks two seed points throughout the entire video microscopy. Our study using intravital and synthetic video shows that our automated algorithm to measure vessel diameter is both faster and more reliable than the manual measurement. [Lee, ISBI07]
