vbreast − : segment the whole breast
SYNOPSISvbreast if= im= sz= iz= ax= of= [-v] [-d]
DESCRIPTIONvbreast segments the whole breast region by detemining its vertical, anterior, lateral and posterior extents repsectively. The vertical extents are obtained based on the vertical range of the sternum. The anterior and lateral extents are detemined based on the skin surface. Finally, the posterior extents are identified by muscle front propagation in the inferior direction.
The CT scan and the organ label map including sternum, ribs, lungs, bones, fat tissues, and skin are required as inputs. The z coordinates for the superior and inferior end of the sternum, and the x coordinate of the sternal angle are also required. The output of= is the updated map with left/right breast/fat/glands added.
