VDIRSEGVisionX V4 NAME

vdirseg − coronary region directional filtering

SYNOPSIS

vdirseg if=<input> map=<inputmap> car=<carina> of=<output>

DESCRIPTION

vdirseg vdirseg first performs descending aorta tracking and estimates the coronary region is estimated based on descending aorta and other organs (vdirmask). Then the intensity image is mean filtered (3x3x1) and consecutively directionally filtered (vdirf), after which thresholding is used to obtain the fat voxels. The threshold depends on the standard deviation (STD) in the coronary region: if STD<=130, a threshold of [-190HU,-10HU] is used; if 130<STD<=230, the threshold is [-190HU,-30HU]; otherwise the threshold is [-190HU,-50HU]. After thresholding the high gradient areas are excluded to obtain the fat voxels. Only the fat voxels in the estimated coronary region are modified.

Input if= is the original CT image and map= is the standard label map. car= is the carina location from label.en. The output of= is the modified fat map.
