VHBCHKVisionX V4 NAME

vhbchk − eliminate heart base over-segmentation

SYNOPSIS

vhbchk [if=] [of=]

DESCRIPTION

vhbchk takes in the segmented heart region and elminates the over-segmentation near the heart diaphragm region if it exists. For each slice, the left-right width of heart is recorded and the averaged width is updated. If the heart width of a new slice exceeds 30% of the averaged width, it is considered as a lateral over-segmentation. Starting from this slice, the heart region is obtained by projecting the segmented heart in the previous slice downwards into the unlabeled region.

Heart region is also constrained by the anterior of the segmented lungs to prevent anterior over-segmentation.
