NAME
vsterrefine − sternum segmentation, refine the sternum segmentation.
SYNOPSISvsterrefine if= sf= az= sz= iz= zc= th= vl= vr va= vp= of=
DESCRIPTIONvsterrefine refines the sternum segmentation by by filling the trabecular regions. The inputs are filtered CT, initial sternum segmentation, and vectors of boundaries of the initial cross sections on each slice. The vertical extents, approximate angle, and the optimal intensity threshold are also required. The Output is the refined sternum segmentation. The coordinates of the sternal angle (angleX, angleY, angle) are also output in wish format.
The program first fills in the trabecular region of the sternum. Then it refines the lateral boundaries on each axial slice by searching for the calcified enclosed surface for the trabecular regions.
