- What will be expected of me if I join this challenge?
Three things: That you will analyze the data using your algorithm,
that you will report the results as outlined in the 'Information' section
of this site, and that you will provide a description of your method.
In addition you are encouraged to submit a paper and to attend the Second International Workshop on Pulmonary Image Analysis at MICCAI.
- Will a paper be written from the results of this challenge?
The study will result in an overview paper, coauthored by all
the participants, comparing different approaches to the problem.
- How do I join the challenge?
Fully read through the details section of the website and then click "Registration" on the navigation bar.
- Does the method need to be fully automated for this challenge?
No it does not, the method can be categorized anywhere between fully automated and completely manual. What is more important is that the method is clearly and completely documented in the report submitted.
- Can one person be a member of multiple teams?
Yes, they can.
- Can results be resubmitted?
Yes, for each team, the most recent submission of results is what is kept and will be analyzed
- But what if a team has multiple methods they wish to submit?
If a team wishes to submit results for multiple methods, then they are asked
to clearly identify that a different method is being used in the submission
process so that multiple
methods will be considered as separate submissions.
- When can I download and use this data elsewhere after the challenge/MICCAI09?
Once the main paper has been accepted we plan to make the data part of our public database that can be used by anyone for any other purpose. Until that time
the use of the data is restricted to this challenge.
